“Doing a hairdresser apprenticeship can be tough, it’s certainly not as glamorous as people might think it is, but if you like people, are self-motivated and have a patient disposition, hairdressing can be very rewarding,”
Like many young girls before her, Alison Davis wanted to become a hairdresser when she grew up.
“Doing a hairdresser apprenticeship can be tough, it’s certainly not as glamorous as people might think it is, but if you like people, are self-motivated and have a patient disposition, hairdressing can be very rewarding,” she says.
A self-confessed people person, Alison enjoys the idea of being able to make people happy and feel better about themselves.
“When I finish my apprenticeship I want to own my own salon, employ another qualified hairdresser to work with me to establish the business and then take on an apprentice or two. I want it to be a place where people will come to relax and go home knowing that they have received something that they can feel proud of.”
