The Minister’s Awards for Excellence recognise and reward organisations and individuals who make an outstanding contribution towards the training of Australian Apprentices.
As the Government is currently in a Caretaker role, the Department is not able to arrange for any Australian Government representatives to attend and present at the Minister’s Awards for Excellence event.
Therefore, a decision has been made to postpone the Minister’s Awards for Excellence presentation event to Tuesday, 26 October 2010.
Entry to each of the award categories is via written nomination/application. For more information on how to apply follow the links to the award category in which you are interested.
Entries in all categories are considered by judging panels as follows:
Selection panels will be convened in each of the 22 regions throughout Australia. These panels will comprise representatives from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and industry, and will select three finalists from each region. One regional winner will then be selected from these three finalists.
A National judging panel is selected for the Support Services Excellence award and the Commitment to Australian Apprenticeships award categories. These panels comprise senior departmental staff, industry/employer representatives and state/territory training authority. Three national finalists will be chosen for each of the two award categories. The finalists will then be interviewed by the judging panel to determine the national winners for each award category.
